| Dream Christmas - Coastal Living |
♫♪ I'm dreaming of a White Christmas,
just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
to hear sleigh bells in the snow . . . ♪♫
Christmas and snow go hand in hand; but what if you live at the beach or one of the many warm parts of the world where snow is a rare or not even remotely possible occurence? I must admit that I miss the snow a bit living near the shores of the Pacific Ocean. My need for the snowy stuff assisted in putting together this collection of "White Christmas" trees and decorations which provide that needed "snowiness" that I was missing.
A flocked "White Christmas" tree sits atop a pedestal table. The branches are textured and have a snowy effect. By displaying it on a table it makes it more of a focal point. We love the branches displayed in the corner; which add a natural effect to the entire display.

Add a touch of whimsy to your "White Christmas" decor with an artful arrangement of ornaments. A silver-robed St. Nick and glittering reindeer were added to glass balls on branches and a dusting of faux snow...it makes for a beautiful snowfall vignette.

All white ornaments on this Christmas tree are combined with white-wrapped presents decorated with gold and silver ribbons for a bit of dazzle. By using a neutral pallet throughout it pulls everything together for a dreamy "White Christmas" feel.

A white mantel is accented with "beachy" sky blue and chartreuse ornaments of glass. Tree branches were painted white and leaves dusted with silver for an elegant vignette.

A large flocked Christmas tree in white is adorned with bright gold and silver ornaments for an elegant and unique design which coordinates with the homeowner's living room decor.

Looking to add some Holiday Sparkle? Coastal Living Magazine suggests using white and silver accents to create a "shimmery holiday glow".

Great job! You also miss the snowlike atmosphere when you live in the dessert and for me in the summer I longed to be by the beach and the winter I longed to be where it snowed. So finally I live in a place where I have four seasons and its nice...I still though...long to be by the beach.
ReplyDeleteI am following from Tuesday's Train. Would love for you to check out my blog when you get the chance.

Funny, I read my friend Maya's comment and I came to tell you just about the same thing. In response to the question you ask at the beginning of this post, having lived my life at one shore or another, White Christmas to me means white sandy beaches and either the warm sun or a nice bonfire to go with it! Keep that cold white stuff away from this old beach gal, lol.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays Marie!
Pretty, Pretty, Pretty! Each photo is just beautiful! A joy stopping by your blog

Ahh... the best of both worlds to live in a State that has both a beach and all four seasons! I love driving down the shore in the fall when the trees are all gold and rust. And i love seeing the cottages at the shore all dressed in white lights for Christmas. The best part is when it snows by the Jersey shore it usually doesnt last because of all the salty sea air!
