| Pink blossoms & our Sailboat |
Though they don't last long, the blooms are real showstoppers anywhere they are placed as well as very fragrant.
We loved how the flowers looked alongside our new little sailboat (isn't it cute?). We picked up this little cutie at a local store, Jack's Country Store, to be exact and just fell in love with it!
The colors of the sailboat fit in perfectly with our new kitchen (details coming soon, lots of finishing touches still happening) and we simply think the sails, which look like ticking, are divine. We found a couple of other little coastal accents too, but we'll share those with you later :O)
Dig out those pruning shears and clip some branches of your favorite flowering tree for instant beauty in your beach home.

The branches don't have to be perfect to be gorgeous! Let the natural curves of the branches drape over your vase for an interesting look. Beach living is all about simple - not fussy!
It's kinda funny how excited us beach girls can get over a little wooden sailboat...but it really is adorable!
Spring break is over so Liz is on her way back to Seattle and the old man and I are finishing up our kitchen (and now dining room, how did that happen?). We'll be blog hopping with Beverly at Pink Saturday, Show Off Your Cottage Monday, Blue Monday and Masterpiece Monday and these other blog parties - so come by and meet some new people. We hope you all have a lovely weekend.

A sail through Spring. I can't think of a better way to spend a day. I'm about to add you girls to my blog roll. Can't for the life of me think why it's taken me this long.
ReplyDeleteI'd love you to take a peek over at DE today as I have my cute Beachy kiddo bedroom makeover story up.

Loved seeing you cherry blossoms. I do not have any like that around here. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe little sailing vessel looks as through it could sail right through the cherry blossoms. It is a very soothing combination. I am so not describing how much this little vignette touches my heart. Makes me thinks of walking the beach on a foggy morning. I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida, about 3 miles from the beaches here. I walk our beaches at sunset and the beach on the other side of the state at sunrise when we visit there. Again, have no idea why cherry blossom make me think of fog, it is the combination, soft/gentle and "foggy" like, I guess. I really love this post. Happy PS
ReplyDeleteThose blossoms are so lovely and you could do Blue Monday with the sailboat too.

There is nothing like cherry blossom, I don't have room for a tree in my small garden but if I did it would be a cherry tree. Your blooms are lovely and look great with the little boat.

ReplyDeleteI love your cherry blossoms...and that sweet sail boat, too! Our trees are just now starting to bloom in KC,MO. We've had really cold weather, but TODAY, with the help of very strong (almost too strong) we're gonna be in the 80s. Of course, that sets us up for storms tonight the weather folks say. SO, I'm kinda glad our little trees are late blooming cuz the storms would ruin them! I'll just enjoy your photos til our trees start to show off for us!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend....and Happy Pink Saturday! dana
Ooops...left out the word "winds" as in "with the help of very strong WINDS" . I need to be better at proofing BEFORE I hit "post"! ;) dana again
